The worlds of WWE and NFL may seem like they’re from different universes, but a recent rumor has been causing quite a stir. It’s been said that WWE superstar John Cena has joined the Kansas City Chiefs. Crazy, right? Well, it turns out that this juicy tidbit was allegedly spilled by none other than Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes himself. But before we get too carried away, let’s try to separate fact from fiction.
So, did Mahomes really spill the beans about Cena joining the Chiefs? Well, not exactly. In reality, Cena is currently busy with his Hollywood gigs and his wrestling career, so there’s no truth to the rumor. But there is a little backstory to this whole situation.
Patrick Mahomes shows incredible sportmanship after beating an opponent and gets a lot of respect from a rival
During the Chiefs’ recent game against the Denver Broncos, things were looking dicey. The Broncos were about to seal the deal with a 35-yard goal, and it seemed like the Chiefs were about to lose their unbeaten status. But then, out of nowhere, Leo Chenal swooped in and blocked the Broncos’ attempt, saving the day for the Chiefs.
Mahomes was so impressed by Chenal’s move that he couldn’t help but draw a comparison to John Cena. He told the media, “Leo Chenal’s FG block is a crazy way to find out he’s nicknamed John Cena… He’s extremely strong… I mean, he’s got the strength of a D-lineman but plays the linebacker position. I mean, you don’t want to be that guy when he’s working out. We call him John Cena.”
